After biking for miles through the heavy rainfall of a thunderstorm, the sun broke through, casting some light my way. Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Park, a swamp forest in the western Everglades, is known for having one of the densest concentrations of native orchid diversity in North America.  This land is also vital habitat for the endangered Florida panther.
